Unlike traditional explosion vents that release pressure and flame into the surrounding environment, flameless explosion vents contain and extinguish the flame within the vent, ensuring that no flames or hazardous materials escape. How It Works: The flameless explosion vent operates by rapidly relieving pressure from an explosion within a protected enclosure while simultaneously quenching the flame. It consists of a traditional explosion vent and a flame arrester mesh or quenching element. When an explosion occurs, the vent opens to relieve the pressure, and the flame arrester absorbs the heat and cools the gases to prevent the flame from escaping.
